Isadore Katz, President & CEO, Co-Founder

Isadore has over 30 years of experience in executive management, marketing and product management in the EDA software and components industry. Previously, he was CEO of Lightchip, an optical components company, and Chrysalis Symbolic Design, an EDA company sold to Avant! in 1999. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University and Masters degree from the Sloan School at MIT.

 

Lee La France, Vice President Engineering, Co-Founder

Lee has more than 30 years of engineering and software development experience. Previously Lee was Director of Product Marketing for VCS, the market leader in simulation at Synopsys, and Vice President of Engineering for Formal Verification at Avant! where he led a 48 person team in the development of equivalence and model checking solutions.  Lee holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Massachusetts.

 

Dr. Joao Geada, Chief Technology Officer, Co-Founder

Dr. Geada has over 25 years of EDA software experience. Dr. Geada was one of the lead architects in the verification and simulation group at Synopsys and a Sr. Researcher at Cadence. Dr. Geada started his career at the IBM TJ Watson Research Center. Dr. Geada holds a PhD and Bachelor degree in Engineering from the University of Newcastle on Tyne (UK).

 

 

Tom Flynn, Vice President Sales

Tom has more than 25 years of experience in executive management and sales in the EDA software and semiconductor process modeling industry.   Previously, Tom was Vice President of Sales at Coventor, a leader in MEMS and semiconductor process modeling, and Vice President of Sales at Ansoft, where he grew world-wide sales from $33 million to over $110 million prior to being acquired by ANSYS.

Jim Hogan, Director

Jim Hogan has worked in the semiconductor design and manufacturing industry for more than 33 years, serving as a senior executive in electronic design automation, semiconductor intellectual property, semiconductor equipment, and fabrication companies. Jim is Chairman of Vista Ventures, LLC.

Jim also has held a variety of executive and board positions at several companies, including managing partner at Telos Venture Partners, senior VP of business development at Artisan Components, and senior VP of business development and the senior member of the office of chief technologist at Cadence. Jim holds a BA degree in mathematics, a BS degree in computer science and an MBA, all from San Jose State University.

 

Barry Fidelman, Director

Barry Fidelman is a Venture Partner in the technology group. He joined Atlas Venture in 1988 after working in executive positions for three venture-backed start-up companies (Data General, Apollo Computer, and Alliant Computer) that completed successful IPO’s. Barry currently serves on the boards of Atlas companies KDS,  Lilliputian Systems (Nectar Power), Zinwave, and CLK Design Automation. Barry has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BSEE from MIT.

 

Robert Pavey, Director

Bob Pavey is Partner Emeritus at Morgenthaler Ventures.  From 1990 to 1992, he served as President and then Chairman of the National Venture Capital Association.

His major focus is on wireless, semiconductors, materials, devices and energy. He sits on the Board of Directors of CLK Design Automation, Cortina Systems, OmniPV, Peregrine Semiconductor Corporation and R2 Semiconductor. During his tenure, Bob has been involved in many of the firm’s successful investments – Apple Computer, Applied Intelligent Systems (acquired by Electro Scientific), Aptis Communications (acquired by Nortel Networks), Atria Software (acquired by Rational Software), Endwave, Gliatech, Illustra Information Technologies (acquired by Informix), Intrinsa (acquired by Microsoft), New Focus, Synernetics (acquired by 3Com), and Synopsys.  He received a BS in physics from The College of William & Mary, an MS in metallurgical engineering from Columbia University, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

 

Paul Levine, Director

Paul Levine is an accomplished entrepreneur and technology enterprise leader. He co-founded and served as president and CEO of Atria Software, developer of the ClearCase® software development management solution. He continues to consult with technology startups and lectures on entrepreneurship at Boston University. Previously, Mr. Levine was at Morgenthaler, a west coast venture capital firm, managing investments in information, communications and semiconductor technology companies. He also served as Vice President of Research & Development at Apollo Computer and in the networking group at Prime Computer. Mr. Levine holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
