Isadore Katz, President and CEO of CLK Design Automation, Inc.

Jim Hogan

Jim Hogan has worked in the semiconductor industry for over three decades. His experience includes time as a senior executive in electronic design automation, semiconductor intellectual property, semiconductor equipment, and fabrication companies. Jim is now a private investor serving on several boards as a director. Most recently, he was a managing partner at Telos Venture Partners in 2004. Additionally, Jim has held a variety of executive positions at several public companies; Senior Vice President of Business Development of Artisan Components, Senior Vice President of Business Development and the senior member of the Office of Chief Technologist at Cadence Design Systems. Jim was a Cadence Executive Fellow and held several positions at Cadence including President of Cadence Japan, Corporate Vice President of Marketing, and Corporate Vice President for Field Operations. He was also Chief Operating Officer of Smart Machines, Inc., a semiconductor equipment automation company. Jim also worked for National Semiconductor for 10 years and for Philips. At both companies, he established device physics laboratories globally. Jim's interest in process and design automation for integrated circuits grew from his experiences between 1972 and 1982 at his family's business, which developed semiconductor-packaging equipment. Jim holds a BA degree in mathematics, a BS degree in computer science and an MBA all from San Jose State University. He serves on the Board of Advisors at San Jose State's School of Engineering and several boards as a director.

Barry Fidelman

Barry Fidelman is a Venture Partner in the technology group. He joined Atlas Venture in 1988 after working in executive positions for three venture-backed start-up companies (Data General, Apollo Computer, and Alliant Computer) that completed successful IPO's. Barry served as Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Marketing and Services at Apollo Computer (growing revenue from $3 million to $300 million in 4 years) and subsequently as President of the International Division of Alliant Computer. He started his career at Fairchild Semiconductor in Silicon Valley and afterwards joined Data General as its first Sales Engineer. He spent six years in Paris for Data General, where he was responsible for managing European operations from inception to $100 million in revenues and 1,000 employees before returning to the U.S. as General Manager of the Data General Information Systems Division.
Barry was a founding investor in GeoTel, which completed an IPO in 1991 and was later acquired by Cisco in 1999; Revit, which was acquired by Autodesk in 2002; Vermeer, which was acquired by Microsoft in 1996; and PCs Compleat, which was acquired by COMPUSA in 1996. He has served on the boards of Castle Networks, acquired by Siemens in 1999; Omnia Communications, acquired by Ciena Corp. in 1999; FutureTense, acquired by OpenMarket in 1999; and Chipcom Europe, which completed an IPO in 1991 and was later sold to 3COM in 1995. Barry currently sits on the boards of Atlas portfolio companies Arbor Networks and Isilon. Barry has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BSEE from MIT.

Bob Pavey

Bob Pavey joined Morgenthaler based in Menlo Park, CA, in 1969 and has been a Partner since 1971. His major focus is on semiconductors, components, and materials. He sits on the Board of Directors of CLK Design Automation, Five Star Technologies, Intelleflex, Lamina Ceramics, Paratek Microwave, Renaissance Wireless and Xoomsys, Inc. During his tenure, Bob has been involved in many of the firm's successful investments: Apple Computer, Applied Intelligent Systems (acquired by Electro Scientific), Aptis Communications (acquired by Nortel Networks), Atria Software (acquired by Rational Software), BlueGill Technologies (acquired by CheckFree), Endwave, Illustra Information Technologies (acquired by Informix), Intrinsa (acquired by Microsoft), New Focus, Synernetics (acquired by 3Com), and Synopsys. Bob is presently a Trustee of the Commonfund, a leading provider of investment programs for non-profit endowments. He is past President and Chairman of the National Venture Capital Association and in 2005 was presented the NVCA's Outstanding Service Award. Bob also is past Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Endowment Association of the College of William and Mary. From 1967 until 1969, Bob held several management positions with Foseco, Inc. Bob holds a B.S. in Physics from The College of William & Mary, an M.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from Columbia University, and an M.B.A. from Harvard University.

Paul Levine

Before joining Morgenthaler in 1998, Paul was the founding CEO of Atria Software where he built a business that developed, distributed, and supported a high-end configuration management system for large software development teams. Paul took Atria public in 1994, and merged it with Pure Software in 1996. Pure Software ultimately merged with Rational in 1997 before Rational was acquired by IBM. Prior to Atria, Paul spent 8 years at Apollo Computer, and before that several years at Prime Computer. At Morgenthaler, Paul has been involved in a wide range of information technology companies. Among these has been Aptis Communications (an access box company acquired by Nortel), NBX (an IP telephony company acquired by 3COM), BlueGill (an electronic bill presentment company acquired by CheckFree), WebSpective (a Website management system company acquired by Inktomi), Fiber Optics Network Solutions (a passive fiber solutions company acquired by ADT), and StarGen Technologies (acquired by Dolphin Interconnect Systems). He currently serves on the boards of CLK Design Automation, Sionex Corporation, and Foonz. Paul is based in Lexington, MA.
