CLK Design Automation is the technology leader in high accuracy timing solutions - helping leading edge semiconductor companies solve their most pressing timing and manufacturing challenges.
Our high accuracy timing technology delivers full chip capacity, SPICE accuracy, and unprecedented performance. CLK Design Automation’s products include AOCV FX for full library AOCV tables in days compared to weeks and months and Path FX for fast delay and variance analysis for critical paths and block timing model generation. Our products complement existing timing flows providing fast, accurate, and practical solutions for static timing analysis.
CLKDA was founded in 2004, and is backed by Morgenthaler Venture Partners and Atlas Ventures. Its Board of Directors includes Barry Fidelman from Atlas, Bob Pavey and Paul Levine from Morgenthaler, and noted EDA entrepreneur and visionary Jim Hogan.
CLKDA’s management and engineering team comes from companies such as Cadence, Synopsys, and Intel.

Management Team
Isadore Katz, President and CEO

Isadore Katz
Isadore has over 20 years of experience in executive management, marketing and product management in the EDA software and components industry. Most recently, Isadore was CEO and President of Lightchip, a supplier of component and software solutions to the telecommunications and cable industry. Prior to Lightchip, Isadore was CEO and President of Chrysalis Symbolic Design, an EDA software start-up selling to the semiconductor and electronics systems industry. Isadore grew the company to a $20m+ revenue ramp, and sold the company in 1999 to Avant! Isadore has held executive positions at Cadence Design Systems, MetaSoftware and Dataquest. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University and Masters degree from the Sloan School at MIT.
Lee LaFrance, Vice President of Engineering

Lee LaFrance
Lee has more than 21 years of engineering and software development experience. Most recently, Lee was Director of Product Marketing for VCS at Synopsys, the market leader in simulation. Prior to Synopsys, Lee was Vice President of Engineering for Formal Verification at Avant!, where he led a 48-person team in the development of next-generation equivalence checking and model checking solutions. Lee has also held executive positions at Chrysalis and Cadence Design Systems, as well as engineering positions in processor development at Digital Equipment Corporation and Prime Computer. Lee holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Massachusetts.
Matthew Raggett, Vice President of Field Operations & Business Development

Matthew Raggett
Matthew most recently was Chairman of Javelin Design Automation. Prior to that, he was President and CEO of Analog Design Automation, which was acquired by Synopsys in 2004, and was VP Field Operations at Insilicon which was also acquired by Synopsys. Matthew held executive positions at Cadence, National Semiconductor and Fairchild Semiconductor.
Dr. Joao Geada, Chief Architect

Dr. Joao Geada
Dr. Geada shares over 15 years of EDA software experience. Most recently, Dr. Geada has been one of the lead architects in the verification and simulation group at Synopsys. Prior to Synopsys, Dr. Geada was a senior researcher at Cadence Design Systems and started his career at the IBM TJ Watson Research Center. Dr. Geada holds a PhD and Bachelor degree in Engineering from the University of Newcastle on Tyne (UK).

Jim Hogan
Jim Hogan has worked in the semiconductor industry for over three decades. His experience includes time as a senior executive in electronic design automation, semiconductor intellectual property, semiconductor equipment, and fabrication companies. Jim is now a private investor serving on several boards as a director. Most recently, he was a managing partner at Telos Venture Partners in 2004. Jim’s interest in process and design automation for integrated circuits grew from his experiences between 1972 and 1982 at his family’s business, which developed semiconductor-packaging equipment. Jim holds a BA degree in mathematics, a BS degree in computer science and an MBA all from San Jose State University. He serves on the Board of Advisors at San Jose State’s School of Engineering and several boards as a director.
Barry Fidelman
Barry Fidelman is a Venture Partner in the technology group. He joined Atlas Venture in 1988 after working in executive positions for three venture-backed start-up companies (Data General, Apollo Computer, and Alliant Computer) that completed successful IPO’s. Barry currently sits on the boards of Atlas portfolio companies Arbor Networks and Isilon. Barry has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BSEE from MIT.
Bob Pavey
Bob Pavey joined Morgenthaler based in Menlo Park, CA, in 1969 and has been a Partner since 1971. His major focus is on semiconductors, components, and materials. During his tenure, Bob has been involved in many of the firm’s successful investments including Apple Computer and Synopsys. Bob is presently a Trustee of the Commonfund, a leading provider of investment programs for non-profit endowments. He is past President and Chairman of the National Venture Capital Association and in 2005 was presented the NVCA’s Outstanding Service Award. Bob holds a B.S. in Physics from The College of William & Mary, an M.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from Columbia University, and an M.B.A. from Harvard University.
Paul Levine
Before joining Morgenthaler in 1998, Paul was the founding CEO of Atria Software where he built a business that developed, distributed, and supported a high-end configuration management system for large software development teams. Paul took Atria public in 1994, and merged it with Pure Software in 1996. Pure Software ultimately merged with Rational in 1997 before Rational was acquired by IBM. At Morgenthaler, Paul has been involved in a wide range of information technology companies. Paul is based in Lexington, MA.
